Some of us ‘know’ what we want and/or what we want to change, however I have found the most powerful and sustained change occurs when therapy incorporates the work of gaining a deep understanding about WHY something is so important to us.

Our hypnotherapy sessions are completely about You; the values and goals that you identify as important. Our sessions will utilise the deeply relaxing state of hypnosis and the power of positive suggestion to bring about subconscious change to thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are in line with Your goals.

Hypnosis aims to alter our state of consciousness in a way that relaxes the conscious part of the mind while simultaneously stimulating and focussing the subconscious part. The therapeutic suggestions, that You have identified as helpful to your goals, are able to bypass the critical analytical ‘conscious mind’ and are able to be clearly received and accepted by the ‘subconscious mind’. The subconscious mind is more open to new ideas and receptive to positive shifts in thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

Some people have seen stage performances of hypnosis and worry that they may be asked to do something silly or against their will during hypnotherapy. NO, this is definitely not the case! You are always in control throughout our sessions and you will find that you are receptive only to suggestions that are acceptable to you and in line with your hypnotherapy goals. You can not be hypnotised into doing things against your will. You can’t be forced into a hypnotic state either. Instead, you allow yourself to be hypnotised. It is a voluntary altering of your own consciousness, and you are always in control. In other words, you are hypnotizing yourself.

Hypnosis can be likened to using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun and make them more powerful. When our unconscious mind is concentrated and focused, we are able to use it more powerfully to focus on changes and behaviors inline with our goals.

My in-depth and personalised approach allows the hypnotherapy work to be powerful; deeply personal, specifically tailored to YOUR self-identified needs and desires for life change.  Hypnotherapy successfully supports numerous behaviour change goals, with treatment goals as unique as the individual’s that seek them.

The number of sessions varies depending upon the treatment goal and any underlying issue. For example: weight loss behavior change goals may take only 1-3sessions, however if perhaps grief, depression or stress related issues are underlying factors. more sessions may be required.

Wellness Matters recommends three sessions as a minimum, with 6 sessions normally considered best to achieve optimum results. Individual sessions and discounted 3 session packages are available.
